Long Overdue

August 6th, 2009 | Relating to: Uncategorized

Over the past year I have been involved with Tinderbox Entertainment as Musical Director for a number of video games in development.  Recently, their first game, Sushi Bumper (Sumo Fun Game Champion) was released on the Xbox Live Indie Games web site.  The game features my original compositions, brought to life using digitally sampled instruments.  I used a lot of percussion - xylophone, marimba, snare and bass drums, cymbals - in addition to a Fender Rhodes electric piano, to complete the ensemble.  The music has a fast tempo to match the pace of the gameplay.

The next game I will be contributing to is more complex than Sushi Bumper.  It will afford me the opportunity to write themes that will be played by different instrumental ensembles to create individuality between each cue while at the same time maintaining a unified melody throughout the gameplay.  There will be more information in the next few months about this new video game project.
